Player estimates

Nobody publishes how many people play 9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek, so these figures are modelled from the public counts on Steam, Twitch. Each count stands in a roughly known ratio to a population — one Play rating per ~45 players, one Steam review per ~35 owners — and the estimates below combine those readings, weighted by how much each source can be trusted to speak for the whole game. Read the range as the answer and the headline as its middle.

Storyline

This thrilling mystery merges elements of classical horror and gritty, 50’s-style noir. A paranormal private investigator is contacted by her friend, famous reporter Helen Hunter, whose voice sounds small and terrified in the voicemail. She is in the coastal town of Serpent Creek, and needs help immediately. But upon arriving in Serpent Creek, the detective finds no trace of Ms. Hunter. Weirder still is the fact the town’s streets are crawling with snakes, and the citizens seem to be sleepwalking through life. The ground shakes with violent tremors. When investigating Serpent Creek, the detective will perform true investigative work: finding clues and combining them to learn the secrets of every crime scene in the all new Detective Mode!

Nobody publishes player counts for mobile games, so we infer them. Each public count we can read is converted into a population using a documented ratio — roughly one Google Play rating per 45 people who played, one Steam review per 35 owners, one Discord member per 40 players — and the live counts (Steam concurrents, members online, Twitch viewers) are converted the same way into a daily figure. Those separate estimates are then averaged in proportion to how much each source can be trusted, which is why sources that disagree widen the published range instead of cancelling out. This page is built on 1 readings taken since August 9, 2026.
