Azur Lane is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game created by Chinese developers Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi, released in 2017 for the iOS and Android operating systems. Set in an alternate timeline of World War II, players engage in side-scrolling shooter gameplay, using female moe anthropomorphic characters based on warships from the war's major participants. Other gameplay elements, like customizing a home and marrying in-game characters, are also present. First launched in China in May and in Japan in September 2017, Azur Lane has become very popular, especially in Japan where the player count reached five million within four months after its release. Players have voted the game among the top five on Google Play's Best Game of 2017 list for the region. Critics have attributed the game's popularity to its original and well-designed gameplay system.

Estimates, not counts — nobody publishes real player numbers for mobile games, so these are modelled from public signals. How we work them out
Nobody publishes how many people play Azur Lane, so these figures are modelled from the public counts on Google Play, App Store, Reddit, YouTube, Twitch. Each count stands in a roughly known ratio to a population — one Play rating per ~45 players, one Steam review per ~35 owners — and the estimates below combine those readings, weighted by how much each source can be trusted to speak for the whole game. Read the range as the answer and the headline as its middle.

Not tracked for Azur Lane: Steam, Discord. A platform appears here once the game has a link to it — most mobile games have no Steam port or subreddit, so a gap is normal rather than a sign the game is small.
We estimate that about 1,600,000 people have played Azur Lane — plausibly between 400K and 16M. Around 79,000 of them play on a given day, in a range of 4K and 2.4M. Both figures are modelled from public counts on Google Play, App Store, Reddit, YouTube and Twitch rather than published by the developer, so read them as a scale rather than as a headcount.
Yes. Azur Lane is holding steady — it measured within a percent of where it was a week ago. We recheck every source daily, and the charts on this page show each platform's readings over time.
Nobody publishes player counts for mobile games, so we infer them. Each public count we can read is converted into a population using a documented ratio — roughly one Google Play rating per 45 people who played, one Steam review per 35 owners, one Discord member per 40 players — and the live counts (Steam concurrents, members online, Twitch viewers) are converted the same way into a daily figure. Those separate estimates are then averaged in proportion to how much each source can be trusted, which is why sources that disagree widen the published range instead of cancelling out.
