HexWar Games has partnered with Plastic Soldier Company to bring you a digital version of Commands & Colors: The Great War board game. The game allow players to portray important engagements throughout WWI history. The battles focus on the historical deployment of forces and important terrain features of trench fighting in scale with the game system. The scale of the game is flexible and varies from battle to battle. For some scenarios, a few infantry units may represent an entire wing of a larger battle, while in other scenarios a unit may represent just a few brave soldiers going over the top. The Command card system drives movement, creates a “fog of war” and presents players with many interesting opportunities; while the battle dice resolve combat quickly and efficiently. The Combat cards add an element of suspense and will challenge players to coordinate their use in a timely manner. Overall, the battlefield tactics players will need to execute to gain victory conform remarkably well to the strengths and limitations of the various types of WWI units, their weapons, battlefield terrain, and written history.

Estimates, not counts — nobody publishes real player numbers for mobile games, so these are modelled from public signals. How we work them out
Nobody publishes how many people play Command & Colours: The Great War, so these figures are modelled from the public counts on App Store, Twitch. Each count stands in a roughly known ratio to a population — one Play rating per ~45 players, one Steam review per ~35 owners — and the estimates below combine those readings, weighted by how much each source can be trusted to speak for the whole game. Read the range as the answer and the headline as its middle.

No source reports a live count for this game, so this is a share of the total player base — a genre assumption rather than an observation, which is why the range is wide.

Not tracked for Command & Colours: The Great War: Google Play, Steam, Discord, Reddit, YouTube. A platform appears here once the game has a link to it — most mobile games have no Steam port or subreddit, so a gap is normal rather than a sign the game is small.
We estimate that about 360 people have played Command & Colours: The Great War — plausibly between 180 and 720. Around 18 of them play on a given day, in a range of 2 and 110. Both figures are modelled from public counts on App Store and Twitch rather than published by the developer, so read them as a scale rather than as a headcount.
Yes. Command & Colours: The Great War is holding steady — it measured within a percent of where it was a week ago. We recheck every source daily, and the charts on this page show each platform's readings over time.
Nobody publishes player counts for mobile games, so we infer them. Each public count we can read is converted into a population using a documented ratio — roughly one Google Play rating per 45 people who played, one Steam review per 35 owners, one Discord member per 40 players — and the live counts (Steam concurrents, members online, Twitch viewers) are converted the same way into a daily figure. Those separate estimates are then averaged in proportion to how much each source can be trusted, which is why sources that disagree widen the published range instead of cancelling out. This page is built on 3 readings taken since August 8, 2026.
