The Escapists is a unique prison escape sandbox game where you get to experience a life behind bars and barbed wire fences. You'e had a life of crime but now you're caught. With thrilling and immersive gameplay, you need to create an escape route in a world of other prisoners and ruled by routine. Escaping requires cunning, strategy, the right equipment and staying at least two steps ahead of the guards. Bribe and fight your way through the prison ranks. If your fellow prisoners like you enough, recruit them and create your own gang. You might even take over a prison! The guards are out to stop any escape attempts, so you’ll have to avoid suspicious behaviour by attending roll calls, working a prison job and hiding your stolen contraband.

Estimates, not counts — nobody publishes real player numbers for mobile games, so these are modelled from public signals. How we work them out
Nobody publishes how many people play The Escapists: Prison Escape, so these figures are modelled from the public counts on App Store, Twitch. Each count stands in a roughly known ratio to a population — one Play rating per ~45 players, one Steam review per ~35 owners — and the estimates below combine those readings, weighted by how much each source can be trusted to speak for the whole game. Read the range as the answer and the headline as its middle.

No source reports a live count for this game, so this is a share of the total player base — a genre assumption rather than an observation, which is why the range is wide.

The Escapists, you've done the crime but can you survive and do the time? From roll call to lights out, you're banged up. There's no get out of jail free card in this game, you need to break out. Are you up for the challenge or are just going to sit there in your cell? You need all your wits and skill to bust out. No walls are going to hold you, you need to escape! While under the careful watch of the guards, you’ll need to get used to prison life while you use strategy and daring to swipe useful objects from under their noses. Make innocent looking items into useful tools like shovels for cunning escape plans or handy weapons to survive in a fight.
We estimate that about 200,000 people have played The Escapists: Prison Escape — plausibly between 99K and 400K. Around 9,900 of them play on a given day, in a range of 990 and 60K. Both figures are modelled from public counts on App Store and Twitch rather than published by the developer, so read them as a scale rather than as a headcount.
Yes. The Escapists: Prison Escape is holding steady — it measured within a percent of where it was a week ago. We recheck every source daily, and the charts on this page show each platform's readings over time.
Nobody publishes player counts for mobile games, so we infer them. Each public count we can read is converted into a population using a documented ratio — roughly one Google Play rating per 45 people who played, one Steam review per 35 owners, one Discord member per 40 players — and the live counts (Steam concurrents, members online, Twitch viewers) are converted the same way into a daily figure. Those separate estimates are then averaged in proportion to how much each source can be trusted, which is why sources that disagree widen the published range instead of cancelling out. This page is built on 2 readings taken since August 8, 2026.
